WeCare of Clinton County Celebrates Success of Inaugural “Serving Up Hope” Pickleball Tournament

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Frankfort, IN — June 24, 2024 — WeCare of Clinton County is thrilled to share the success of its first annual “Serving Up Hope” Pickleball Tournament, held on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at the TPA Park Pickleball Courts. In partnership with CORE Community Center, the event welcomed an enthusiastic crowd of players, volunteers, and community supporters — all coming together to support WeCare’s recovery and outreach programs.

The tournament hosted 30 teams across amateur and competitive brackets, with players braving extreme heat to compete with determination and enthusiasm. Despite the soaring temperatures, teams showed remarkable perseverance, displaying kindness, sportsmanship, and support for one another throughout the day.

Participants enjoyed competitive matches, free event t-shirts, cash prizes, exciting giveaways, and refreshments — all while “serving up hope” for individuals and families on the journey to recovery. A memorable highlight included a colorful appearance by “Victor Starlight,” a beloved supporter who brought extra cheer and personality to the event.

The event winners included:

  • Competitive Division

    • First Place: Thomas Maple & Jared Hass

    • Second Place: Josh Emery & Jodi Emery

  • Amateur Division

    • First Place: Randall Bennett & Ryan Johnson

    • Second Place: Josh Kline & Dave Fulton

WeCare extends heartfelt thanks to the 20 community sponsors whose support made the day possible. Their generosity helped create an event that was not only well-organized and fun, but also deeply meaningful for the mission of hope, renewal, and transformation.

“The ‘Serving Up Hope’ tournament was everything we prayed for,” said Jennifer Gardner, Operations Director of WeCare of Clinton County. “Even in the intense heat everyone seemed to have a great time for a great cause. We are truly grateful to everyone who helped make it such a special day.”

Proceeds from the tournament will directly benefit WeCare’s recovery programs, transition housing, and other outreach ministries, helping individuals and families experience lasting transformation.
